The development of Oriental Medicine has spanned centuries. The earliest written history begins 2,500 years ago, and archaeological records suggest the origins of Oriental Medicine go back at least five thousand years.  Being born in an era where the idea of 'germs' was non-existent, the combination of stimulating points on the body, as well as ingesting medicinal herbs, was an ingenious approach to health care!

Here are some of the specific techniques we employ:

Acupuncture / Acupressure:  A method of encouraging the body to promote natural healing and to improve functioning. This is done by inserting needles and applying heat or pressure at very precise points.

Acupuncture without Needles:  We Specialize in Non-Needle Insertion Acupuncture Therapy. Instead of using a traditional needle, we use Japanese Needles, Finger Needle, or Shinkiko Style Needling.  This is very gentle and incredibly effective, Non-Needle Insertion Acupuncture harnesses both the practitioner's as well as the client's Bioelectricity or Chi to excite the acupuncture points, increase or decrease energy as needed, and create a frequency that resonates specifically to the individual client's own biological blueprint. This method forms a harmony and vibration that creates deep healing and change in the body, mind and spirit.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM): A broad range of medicine practices sharing common concepts which have been developed in China and are based on a tradition of more than 2,000 years, including various forms of herbal medicine, acupuncture, massage (Tui na), exercise (qigong), and dietary therapy.

Chinese Bodywork / Massage, Tui Na

Japanese Bodywork/Massage, Shiatsu, Sotai

Cupping: this employs a glass or bamboo cup as a suction device to stimulate blood circulation.

Tong Ren Therapy: Developed by Tom Tam, and an integral part of the Tom Tam Healing System, Tong Ren is a form of energy therapy for restoring health and vitality. Tong Ren is based on a belief that disease is related to interruptions, or blockages, in the body's natural flow of chi, neural bioelectricity, blood, or hormones.
